The images of the city create the images of the city.
When I was asked to do a project about Chioggia——a city I’ve never been to, I learned about the city through the database and materials available online. However, as the research deepened, I realized that I would never know the “real” city. Looking through pages of images created by different people, such as the locals and tourists, it constantly re-constructed my experience of imagining Chioggia. The representation of the city in my head is actually based on a large number of images and videos created by others.
Inspired by the definitions of 3D model——viewed from indefinite angles, in this project, I re-create the representation of the city with the same images but in a completely different way, so this composition is a co-creation of all of us.
